The Department of Physics is one of the leading departments in the College of Science at the University of Hail and one of the first departments to be established in the college. The department is concerned with teaching theoretical and experimental knowledge and skills related to physics, in addition to conducting scientific research and providing services to the community in the region. This is due to the importance of physics and its fundamental role in the development of humanity and the development of other sciences, in addition to its close connection with all aspects of our daily lives, such as energy, communications, transportation, diagnosis, treatment, advanced technologies, and other important aspects.

Where the department works to prepare qualified national cadres in a distinguished educational environment and through distinct educational and training programs in order to meet the national needs of qualified graduates in science disciplines in general and physics in particular. The department offers academic programs covering various branches of physics for the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The department includes a group of faculty members specialized in different branches of theoretical and experimental physics, in addition to a number of distinguished lecturers, teaching assistants and technicians. The department also has many capabilities and laboratories that contain various educational and research devices that support the excellence of the educational environment in the department. The department also offers a number of service educational courses that support the education of male and female students in a number of faculties in the university and its branches.
