About College
The college was opened under its previous name (College of Health Sciences for Boys) in Hail in 1424 AH and in 6142 AH. The College of Health Sciences for Girls was inaugurated and was affiliated to the Ministry of Health. In the year 1429 AH, and by a decision of the Council of Higher Education, all health colleges were included in the universities affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education, including the College of Health Sciences in the Hail region, as it joined the University of Hail.
A brief history of the college
When the college joined the University of Hail, it focused on raising the academic level of the scientific departments and developing them. Among the fruits of that development is the restructuring of the health colleges based on the decision of His Excellency the Acting Director of the University of Hail No. 32/2/11286 dated 08/17/1432 AH, which stipulates the immediate start of work with the new structure approved by the Higher Education Council Resolution No. 23/49/1429 and crowned with the Royal Approval No. 5150/AD and dated 03/07/1429 AH, when the Health College for Boys and the Health College for Girls were restructured into the College of Nursing (Boys and Girls); College of Public Health and Health Informatics (boys and girls); This is in order to raise the scientific level and obtain the minimum level of quality in order to reach highly qualified educational outputs; In order to graduate well-trained national cadres; The College of Public Health and Health Informatics currently offers a bachelor's degree in the following majors:
- Health Services Administration
- Health informatics and information management
- Public Health
This is to meet the needs of the medical labor market in terms of these specializations. The duration of study in the college is (5) years, including the internship period. The college is equipped with modern laboratories for training students.
Work has also begun on the bridging program in the college based on the telegram of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education No. 77918 dated 7/8/1431 AH; In its first session of the academic year 1431/1432 AH, the University Council approved the implementation of the Bridging Program in the College of Public Health and Health Informatics; The allocation of health administration (boys) began in the academic year 1432/1433 AH, and with the beginning of the previous academic year 1435-1436 bridging students began to be accepted into the public health and health informatics programs for boys, and recently, bridging students began to be accepted into the health informatics program for girls to start their studies as of The second semester 1436/1437 AH.
