Establishment of the College of Pharmacy at University of Hail was based on the decision of the Council of Higher Education No. 62 / Muharram 1432 H. The decision was based on the development of the health services sector in Hail, establishment of several hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health, and establishment of a hospital affiliated to the University of Hail. This raised a growing need for educated and trained pharmaceutical staff.

The Doctor of Phaemacy program teaches, prepares pharmacists to practice the profession of pharmacy in various health care fields, including work in hospitals, specialized health centers, specialized clinics, whether governmental or community, as well as pharmaceutical companies and factories, and other fields. In addition, preparing pharmacists to complete their postgraduate studies in the same field. Therefore, this has been taken into account in the study plan for the PharmD program. The duration of study in the program is six years, starting with the preparatory year in which the student studies some basic sciences such as biology, chemistry, physics, statistics and English as preparatory courses for entering the study of specialized courses.

The following are some of the college's achievements since its establishment:

1.     The 4th and 5th place award for student research project in DUPHAT conference in  2021-2022.

2.     The 2nd place award for student competition at the international society of oncology pharmacy practitioners in 2021-2022

3.     3rd and 4th place prizes for staff excellence in scientific citation in 2021-2022

4.     2 staff members were included in the list of best 2% scientist according to citation indicators for the year 2021 and 2022.

5.     The AHPGS program accreditation in 2019
