About College
The College of Arts and Letters at the University of Hail is the only college in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that bears this name (College of Arts and Letters). The college was established in 1429-1430 AH, and its first dean was Dr. Muhammad bin Fareeh Al-Tamimi, and the current dean of the college is Dr. Fawzi bin Salem Al-Shaya, and the deans who passed it are: Dr. Fahd Al-Hawas, Dr. Khaled Al-Harbi, Dr. Dhaifallah Al-Talhi, and Dr. Muhammad bin Ali Al-Shehri. The college currently includes the following departments:
1- Department of English Language: It contains a Bachelor’s program in the English language (male and female students)
2- The Department of Arabic Language, which includes three programmes:
A- Master's program in language, grammar, and morphology (male and female students).
B- Master's Program in Literature, Rhetoric and Criticism (Male and Male Students)
C- Arabic language BA program (male and female students).
3- The Department of Tourism and Antiquities, which has two programmes:
A- Bachelor of Tourism and Events Management Program (male and female students - bachelor's degree)
B- Bachelor of Archeology and Heritage Resources Management (students).
4- Department of Media - and it includes a Bachelor of Media program (male and female students).
5- The Department of Social Sciences, which includes four programmes:
A- Master's Program in Geographic Information Systems (male and female students).
B- Bachelor of History Program (male and female students).
C- Bachelor of Social Work program (male and female students).
D- Bachelor's Program in Geographic Information Systems (male and female students).
6- Department of Fine Arts, which includes:
A- Bachelor of Fine Arts program (male and female).
B- Graphic Design Diploma Program.
The most prominent features of the college
The college has gained great importance due to the diversity and interface between its various departments and programs, such as the Department of Arabic Language, the Department of English Language, and the Department of Social Sciences. In view of the vitality of its other departments, such as the Department of Tourism and Antiquities, the Department of Information, and the Department of Fine Arts.
The college had a prominent share and a clear imprint on the level of the University of Hail. Where the Hail University Journal for Human Sciences was born, which is the peer-reviewed scientific journal that was founded in 1437 AD, and eighteen issues were issued, and it is still being issued.
The college is also characterized by the availability of important and vital student clubs, which serve at the academic and community levels, such as the volunteer club, the media club, the plastic arts club, and others.
The college was one of the first colleges to activate the electronic academic advising system.
At the graduate level, the college includes an MA program in Language, Grammar, and Morphology, a Literature, Rhetoric, and Criticism program, a Geographic Information Systems program, and some diploma programs. It is on track to open similar programs in English, social sciences, tourism, archaeology, and fine arts.
